Why I Created New Journey Women’s Retreats

A few years ago, my life shifted in ways I never could’ve prepared for.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer — the kind of diagnosis that shakes everything: your health, your confidence, your future. I went through radiation. Hormone therapy. A total hysterectomy. Five years of treatment. I was thrown into medically induced menopause long before I was ready. It wasn’t just my body that was changing — my entire identity was unraveling and reshaping.

At the same time, I was a single mother transitioning into empty-nest life. I had spent years working tirelessly in public service — building systems, supporting others, carrying the weight of community change on my back — all while quietly burying my own needs. Like so many of us, I was the strong one. The fixer. The "alpha female" who had no room to fall apart. But inside, I was silently battling fear, exhaustion, and the crushing pressure to keep it all together.

I began asking: What does healing actually look like? What does it mean to care for myself the way I’ve cared for everyone else?

This Is More Than a Getaway. It’s a Lifeline.

New Journey Women’s Retreats are born from my truth — and the truth of so many Black women who are exhausted from carrying the weight of being everything to everyone.

We are mothers. Leaders. Dream builders. The backbone of our families, our workplaces, our communities. We rarely get the permission — or the space — to just be. To rest. To breathe. To reflect. To feel without apology. And too often, we don't prioritize our own wellness until something forces us to.

That stops here.

These retreats are sacred spaces where Black women can pause, release, and reconnect — to themselves, to each other, and to joy. Each experience is intentionally curated to be luxurious, all-inclusive, and deeply restorative — because we deserve soft landings, not just survival.

We Focus On:

  • Mind: Letting go of perfectionism, overthinking, and the fear of failure

  • Body: Healing through rest, massage, movement, and nourishment

  • Soul: Realigning with purpose, spirit, sisterhood, and laughter

No work. No stress. No planning. Just you, loved on, cared for, and fully held in 5-star environments where you don’t have to do it all.

This Is My New Journey. And I Invite You to Take Yours.

Every New Journey Retreat is a celebration of life — of choosing yourself, without guilt. It’s about transforming pain into power, survival into celebration. I created this for every woman who’s ever felt like she couldn’t slow down, for every Black woman who has ever been the strong one and now needs a soft place to land.

Your healing matters.
Your joy matters.
You matter.
